Last year I attending my very first American Christian Fiction Writers conference. I only attended one day of the three-day event due to work constraints, but that one day was glorious. It encouraged my commitment to writing for publication and filled my heart with so many sweet new acquaintances.
It’s almost conference time again! In a few short weeks, myself and hundreds of other Christian authors will descend upon Nashville for fellowship, engagement, education, networking, and more. My sweet friend and author Laurie Tomlinson is once again hosting her Pre-Conference Mix and Mingle as a way for attendees to get to know one another prior to the event. Something VERY serious: How do you take your Starbucks? Recently had to give up coffee due to tummy issues (all the boos), but I LOVE their iced green tea! So refreshing.
The unique talking points that will get you going for hours: Fonts, graphic design, the local church (for which I have a great big puffy heart), and cooking shows!
Loved ones at home you’ll be missing: My amazing supportive husband of a whopping 14 years, spunky 7-year-old daughter, and sweet mini Schnauzer!
Conference goals we can pray for? Last year, I pitched my first book to three agents and had each request a full proposal. However, after a lengthy “courting” with one of those agents, it ended with “not right now.” I pray for God’s sovereign and perfect timing and, if it’s His will, that I will find representation at this year’s conference. I also pray for friendships to be strengthened and blessed.
Anything we can celebrate with you? My first book just took 3rd place in the Short Contemporary category of the Touched By Love Award Contest, sponsored by the Faith, Hope, and Love chapter and recently announced at the Romance Writers of America’s annual conference in San Diego. Huge honor!
