Someplace Familiar is going on tour…a book tour, that is, with Celebrate Lit! From March 1-14, you are invited to stop by and chat about the Jack, Livy, Laurel Cove, and more with other readers and bloggers. I’ll be popping in and out to answer questions and chat with readers, too. Throughout the tour, I’ll be sharing a bit more here on the blog about my process, inspiration, how it feels to have a book out for a while, what’s coming up, and more. What would YOU like to ask me about the book (or anything else for that matter)?

How long did it take you to write this book?

Well, the first draft took only 30 days! I wrote it during NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writer’s Month) where authors are challenged to write 50,000 words during November. And I did it! But then, I took two years to rewrite a bunch of it, add lots of new scenes, went through a few full edits, etc. So, overall, it took maybe 2.5-3 years from the time I began to it’s release date. Whew! 🙂

Thanks so much, Diane. Yes, lots of late nights and coffee house “dates” with my laptop. 🙂 Can’t wait to hear what you think when you get a chance to read the book. Enjoy!
